Katie Walther
President, Run Spot Run, Inc.
Katie knows media. Having spent over 20 years in advertising, media planning and buying and radio, Katie has seen the changes in media and advertising first-hand and has positioned Run Spot Run as a leader in Oregon media buying and planning.
As a testament to her ability, Katie was named a past Media Professional of the Year by the Portland Advertising Federation. She has also served on the Media Steering Committee for Worldwide Partners, the largest organization of independent advertising agencies in the world.
Katie began her media career in the mid-’80s in Portland, Oregon with local television stations. She shifted to the agency side after a move to Louisville, Kentucky, where she worked as a media buyer and buyer supervisor with Doe-Anderson Advertising, one of the Southeast’s largest agencies.
She returned to Oregon and worked her way up through the agency world. She started Run Spot Run in 1999 to serve clients who wanted the media expertise of an advertising professional without other agency services. Katie is passionate about the people and relationships in the media and advertising businesses.
“I refuse to do something I don’t feel is right for my clients,” said Walther.
Katie sees the future of Run Spot Run as local and regional leaders in total media.
“We see the changes that are here and yet to come. We understand and embrace it,” she said.
When Katie and husband Robb aren’t making clients happy, they show horses around the west with their two dogs.

Robb Walther
Vice President, Run Spot Run, Inc.
Robb Walther has been in account management and client services for over 15 years. At Run Spot Run, Robb handles account and client services. He works with clients to educate and make sure they are well-informed to make the best choices.
Robb has always enjoyed being in front of the client. He started his work life as a teacher, but realized his calling was in business, where he excelled in account management. Later in his career he found himself in the high-tech industry and, within six months, was working on the largest account in the state for his company. After a market shift and company downsizing, Robb found a new outlet for his talents in advertising.
He took on the role of VP and account services with Run Spot Run and has helped triple the size of the media agency within just a few years. He has also embraced new and emerging media, where he is continuing to develop as a local leader.
“I like being out in front of people,” said Robb. “I really enjoy the account services part of the business. I’ve taken on emerging media and continue to focus on making that a key part of our clients’ plans. What’s most exciting is that I believe we’re at the forefront for buying local and regional Internet media.”
Still, it’s in front of the client where Robb finds the most gratification.
“The most rewarding thing is when you land a new client, bring them in and make it work well. When you see the return on investment, you see a happy client.”
When not making clients happy Robb is the chair of the Marketing Committee on the board for the National Reining Horse Association.
